Hello,

My name is Vicki and I am the owner of This Little Gut Of Mine, I am a 42 year old living in the North East of England. 

​

In May 2024 I was diagnosed with Bile Acid Malabsorption (BAM). You can find out more about BAM and my diagnosis journey in the blog section of this site. I quickly realised after diagnosis that there wasn't a lot of visibility for this bowel disease that affects an estimated 1 in 100 people in the UK. I decided to start a TikTok account to share my experiences and hopefully help to build a little community of people who are all experiencing the same things as me. Somewhere I can share the research I have been doing, in the hope that it will help more people recognise this disease. I also hope that people suffering with BAM can share this with their friends and family so that they too can understand what having BAM entails.

Forum - for asking questions and starting conversation with each other. A space where we can support each other and hopefully build a community of BAM sufferers, people wondering if they have BAM and anyone wanting to support their loved ones by becoming more informed.

Blog - where I share information from my research and my own journey. There will be some lifestyle posts too, as I show how I navigate my days.

Shop - I have written my research into a book that is available to buy called The Beginners Guide to Bile Acid Malabsorption. The shop section of this site will be populated with BAM related items from journals to t-shirts! A little bit of everything. I have also created an Amazon Store Front to share the products I have bought and love.  What you might not know about me is that I have a history of being crafty! I have previously has websites that sell products I have made and I might just use this as a base to sell some of them.

First and foremost, I am hoping to support the BAM community and I want to ensure that this is the main focus of this site. If I can also begin to supplement my income, it would be and amazing bonus! Afterall, the cost of everything has sky rocketed and any additional funds would go an extremely long way at the moment...
